Austin Public Library Wedding | Gregg & Kristy

Kristy and Gregg’s wedding day was an authentic Austin experience. 

Kristy and Gregg moved to Austin last year all the way from Maryland. Being far from home, they wanted their wedding weekend to be filled with showing their family their new home. And they did just that. 

They gathered for a ceremony at Life Austin Chapel, escaped to their Air BnB for photos and partied the night away at the Austin Public Library.

When Kristy and Gregg initially started planning, they had only invited around 40 people. As the wedding day got closer, Gregg felt like he couldn’t get married without his whole family there. So their wedding grew from 40 to 150 people a few months before their wedding day. Which I applaud them because the planner in me would freak out having to find a new ceremony venue in such a short amount of time. 

They found Life Austin Chapel, a beautiful stone chapel tucked away in the Austin Hill Country, just 20 minutes from downtown. The chapel was the perfect spot for all their friends and family to gather, and stay cool. As June in Texas can be overwhelmingly hot. 

After their ceremony, we snuck away to Camp Congress – an Air BnB – and airstream trailer park right on the iconic Congress Avenue. The Air BnB is hidden amongst trees and houses on Congress Avenue and was the perfect spot to take Kristy & Gregg’s portraits. We also took some time to grab a beer and snack before heading to the library. 

Their family stayed with them at Camp Congress the days leading up to the wedding and was the perfect spot for everyone to congregate and celebrate the whole weekend. 

Their reception was downtown on the rooftop of the Austin Public Library. The views of the river and city are hard to beat. It was the perfect spot to celebrate their new life together and to share their new home with their families. 

Kristy and Gregg and their families danced the night away with their friends and family surrounded by the beauty of the Austin skyline.
