Intimate Fall Wedding Austin, Texas | Courtney + Josh

Courtney and Josh’s wedding day was such a sweet and needed reminder that wedding day’s don’t have to be productions.

The Instagram and Pinterest world we live in may tell us wedding days are for epic photos. But wedding days are so so so much more than photos; your wedding day would take place whether someone was there to document it or not.

I was so honored to document Courtney and Josh’s incredible wedding day. A weekend filled with all of their family and closest friends in one place at the same time. Josh and Courtney have both experienced the production that a wedding could become and knew that they didn’t want that on their wedding day.

Instead, they wanted a relaxed day spent with one another and their people. They prioritized that time by taking family photos before the ceremony and taking portraits together during a morning after session the day after their wedding. They made sure that they got to spend as much time with their loved ones celebrating their relationship as possible.

Doing this made for such a fun and relaxed evening.

While taking portraits the day after maybe “untraditional” – Courtney and Josh still shared traditional elements by doing a first look together, exchanging gifts with family, having friends and family give speeches and sharing a first dance.

They made their wedding day their own and stayed true to themselves throughout the planning process and wedding – which made my job so much easier as a photographer. My only job was to document exactly how the day unfolded, no rigid timeline to make sure we stuck to, no real pressure for the ceremony to start at 5 o’clock on the dot – simply a day to document Courtney and Josh’s incredible love story. And their adorable pup Athena – scroll down to see the cutest dog ever.

Courtney had initially planned to dress Athena up in a wedding dress and surprise Josh with her for their first look, but she decided it would be a lot for her so instead she dressed her up for photos the next morning during their morning after portraits.

Josh and Courtney’s wedding day couldn’t have been more beautiful. They hit the jackpot with a perfect 70-degree day in November.

Enough talking though – scroll down and check out the memories from their wedding day, including Courtney’s niece getting her nails painted with one hand in a bag of Cheetos and one getting manicured. 😂
