Hacienda Del Lago Austin Wedding | Taylor & Taylor

Taylor and Taylor’s (yes they have the same name) wedding day was absolutely incredible, nestled on the top of the hill Hacienda Del Lago offers beautiful views of Lake Austin and the Texas hill country.

Taylor and Taylor have dated long distance for the majority of their relationship. They are both in residency for different specialties and in different states, (girl) Taylor is in Colorado and (boy) Taylor is in Missouri. They get to visit each other every few weeks but will start their marriage long distance as well. My parents got married and did long distance for the first 3 years of their marriage because of a similar situation, both finishing up school in different places. I admire any couple that conquers long distance; it’s such a testament to the strength of their relationship and the bond they share.

Their long-distance relationship made their wedding day all the sweeter, everyone coming from near and far to celebrate them was there to honor the journey they’ve taken to get to the wedding day and cheer them on as they start this new journey as a married couple. You could feel the joy that everyone around had for them, their friends, and family alike.

Their wedding was at the end of October, which in Texas can mean just about anything when it comes to weather. That month I had photographed weddings in 30 degrees, 95 degrees, and everything in between. Taylor and Taylor could not have asked for more perfect weather on their day. It was in the mid 70’s with a cool breeze, dropping into the 50s at night, just about as close to a fall day in Texas as you can get.

Not only was the weather beautiful, but so was the entire event. The tent was lined with lights, and greens and tables were filled with personalized glasses and the coolest charcuterie board I’ve ever seen. The evening was filled with laughter as family members gave speeches and words of advice. And most of all, filled with so much fun and joy. Taylor even surprised a friend with a cookie cake since it was her birthday, if that doesn’t give you a glimpse into her caring personality. I don’t know what will. The dance floor was filled all night long as guests partied late into the night, only stopping for a break at the s’mores or bananas foster bars 😋

It was so fun to be a part of their celebration and an honor to be a part of their journey. From our engagement session adventure in Colorado to their wedding day in Austin it was a joy to work with two incredibly hard-working and kind people. I’m so excited to see where their adventures take them next.
