Sam and Jeff celebrated their wedding day with all of their friends and family in the most beautiful historic estate outside of Denver, Colorado.
Sam and Jeff moved to Colorado in the midst of the pandemic, with their families on the east coast and the pandemic keeping them apart, their wedding day was such a fun reunion of family.
Over the last two years my style and philosophy behind wedding photography has shifted. I have seen the true value in capturing candid moments over posed moments, not to say that I don’t take “posed” photos, but that I have found the candid moments to be extra special.
There are hundreds of first looks and reunions on every wedding day, not just the first look between the bride and groom. But the moment with mom, dad, bridesmaids, the uncle you haven’t seen in 2 years, and in Jeff and Sam’s case their dog Marty.
These moments that happen are the true essence of the wedding day, they are the wedding day and the posed moments are just the icing on the cake.
They are the moments that we have missed out for the last 2 years in, they are moments we may never get to have again. How often are all your friends and family members in the same place at the same time?
If the pandemic has taught us anything it’s also taught us how quickly those momeths can be taken away fro us. I personally lost my grandmother to covid just 10 days before my wedding. I am thankful she was able to meet my husband and I got to share photos of my wedding dress with her before she past but man I wish I could have told her all about the day and shared all the photos with her. I am her only granddaughter and oh how I wish I could have shared “her little princess” on my wedding day with her.
These moments are more than just photos, they are memories.
My goal on each wedding day is to capture as many of those memories for you as possible, to tell the story of your day.
